അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ഒളിമ്പിക് ദിനാചരണത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി കേരള ഒളിമ്പിക് അസോസി യേഷൻ്റെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ ജൂൺ 23ന് എല്ലാ ജില്ലകളിലും വിപുലമായ ഒളിമ്പി ക് ഡേ റൺ നടന്നു. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് വൈകിട്ട് നാലിന് മാനവീയം വീഥിയിൽ നിന്ന് ആരംഭിച്ച് സെൻട്രൽ സ്റ്റേഡിയ ത്തിൽ അവസാനിച്ച കൂട്ടയോട്ടത്തിൽ കാൽലക്ഷത്തോളം പേർ അണിനിരന്നു.

ഒളിമ്പ്യൻ സെബാസ്റ്റ്യൻ സേവ്യർ കായിക പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചൊല്ലിക്കൊടുത്തു. പി.ടി ഉഷയും മന്ത്രി എം.ബി രാജേഷും തുറന്ന ജീപ്പിൽ മാനവീയം വീഥിയിൽ നിന്ന് സെൻട്രൽ സ്റ്റേഡിയം വരെ സഞ്ച രിച്ചു. പ്രശസ്‌ത കായിക താരങ്ങളായ

ദേശീയ-അന്തർദേശീയ കായിക താര ങ്ങൾ, കായികസംഘടനാ ഭാരവാഹികൾ, പൊലീസ്, എൻ.സി.സി, എൻ.എസ്.എ സ് അം അംഗങ്ങൾ, സ്കൂ‌ൾ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ

തുടങ്ങിയവർ കൂട്ടയോട്ടത്തിൽ പങ്കാളിക ളായി. സുംബ ഡാൻസ്, ബാൻഡ്‌മേളം, റോളർ സ്കേറ്റർമാർ തുടങ്ങിയവർ അനു ഗമിച്ചു.

എല്ലാ ജില്ലകളിലും 5000 മുതൽ 10000 വരെ ആളുകളെ പങ്കെടുപ്പിച്ച് ഒളിമ്പിക് ഡേ റൺ നടന്നു. അർജുന അവാർഡ് ജേ താക്കൾ, സ്പോർട്‌സ് താരങ്ങൾ, കായിക സംഘാടകർ തുടങ്ങി 2 ലക്ഷത്തോളം പേ ർ എല്ലാ ജില്ലകളിലുമായി പങ്കാളികളായി. ഒളിമ്പിക് ദിനാഘോഷത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ജില്ലാ ഒളിമ്പിക് അസോസിയേഷനുകളു ടെ മേൽനോട്ടത്തിൽ കായികമത്സരങ്ങൾ, സ്‌കൂൾ/ കോളേജ് കുട്ടികളുടെ കലാ പരിപാടികൾ, മയക്കുമരുന്നിനെതിരെ യുള്ള ബോധവത്കരണ പരിപാടികൾ,

രക്തദാന ക്യാമ്പ്, മുൻ കായിക താരങ്ങളുടെ പുനഃസമാഗമം, ചിത്രരചനാ മത്സരം, ക്വിസ് തുടങ്ങിയവയും സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഒരാഴ്ച യായി നടന്നുവന്ന ഒളിമ്പിക് ദിന ആഘോഷ ങ്ങൾക്ക് സമാപനമായി.

കൊല്ലം ജില്ലാ ഒളിമ്പിക് അസോസിയേ ഷൻ്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ നടന്ന ഒളിമ്പിക് റൺ ചിന്നക്കടയിൽ ക്ഷീര വികസന വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി ജെ ചിഞ്ചു റാണി ഉത്ഘാടനം ചെയ് തു . ഇരവിപുരം എം.എൽ.എ എം .നൗഷാദ് അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു. ജില്ല കളക്ടർ ദേവിദാ സ് ഫ്ലാഗ് ഓഫ് ചെയ്‌തു, ലാൽ ബഹാ ദൂർ സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തിൽ അവസാനിച്ച റാലിയിൽ റിട്ടയേർഡ് പോലീസ് സുപ്രണ്ട് ഷാജഹാൻ ഫിറോസ് പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചൊല്ലിക്കൊടുത്തു. ജി ല്ലാ ഒളിമ്പിക് അസോസിയേഷൻ സീനിയർ വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്ററ് ഡോക്ടർ കെ രാമഭദ്രൻ സ്വാഗതവും,ജില്ല സെക്രട്ടറി ആർ.ജയകൃ ഷൻ നന്ദിയും രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി.

The International Olympic Day Run organized by Kerala Olympic Association was held on 23rd June, 04:00 pm from Manaveeyam Veedhi to Central Stadium at the Capital city of Kerala. Kerala had the privilege of hosting the President of the Indian Olympic Association as part of the state’s International Olympic Day celebrations.

The Run was flagged of Dr. P. T. Usha, President, Indian Olympic Association, Sri. V. Sivankutty, Hon’ble Minister for General Education and Labour, Sr. M. B. Rajesh, Hon’ble Minister for Excise in the inaugural function held at Manaveeyam Veedhi. Olympian Shiny Wilson, Olympian K. M. Beenamol, Olympian P Ramachandran, Olympian Jincy Philip, Smt. Padmini Thomas, Arjuna Awardee, Olympian Sebatsian Xavier, Sri. Ajay Kumar Singh, Deputy General Manager, Canara Bank, Justice. M. R. Hariharan Nair, Retd. Judge of the HC of Kerala, Sri. Sushil Kumar, General Manager (Network 1), State Bank of India, Shri. S Gopinath IPS, Retd. IG of Police and Ms. Neena. V, Ass. Sports Organizer, DDE Office, Trivandrum were the Chief Guests of the Inaugural Function. Sri. V. Sunil Kumar, President, KOA, Sri. S. Rajiv, Secretary General, Sri. Viju Varma, Gen. Secretary, Thiruvananthapuram District Olympic Association and various other renowned personalities participated in the function.

The Directorate of General Education, Government of Kerala and Higher Education Department supported Kerala Olympic Association by permitting all the schools and colleges in the State to participate in the Olympic Day program.

Kerala Olympic Association distributed Olympic Day T Shirts to all participants. Participants were also distributed Refreshments at Central Stadium.
Prime Hospitals in the city tied up with Olympic Day Celebrations by providing their ambulance with a medical team for the emergencies during the course of Run. A medical camp was also set up at Central Stadium to provide free medical and physio care to the participants.

1. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

Several teams participated in the event, making it a vibrant and competitive tournament.
As part of the Celebrations, Trivandrum Karate Association and Thiruvananthapuram District Olympic Association jointly organized Junior Karate League at Attingal. Attingal Municipality Chairperson Adv. S. Kumari inaugurated the event. Municipality Vice Chairman Sri. G. Thulaseedharan Pillai presided over the event.

Several teams participated in the event, making it a vibrant and competitive tournament. As part of the Celebrations, Trivandrum Karate Association and Thiruvananthapuram District Olympic Association jointly organized Junior Karate League at Attingal. In celebration of International Olympic Day, Nirmala Bhavan School, Trivandrum organized a vibrant School Olympic Day Run on 23rd June. The run was flagged off by Sri V. Sunil Kumar, marking the spirited beginning of the celebration. Adding a touch of symbolic peace and unity, the release of the dove was graciously performed by His Highness Aditya Varma at Kowdiar Square. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students reinforcing the importance of physical activity and sportsmanship in young lives.

Adding color and excitement to the occasion, the students also organized a cheer party flashmob at Kowdiar Square.

As part of the Olympic Day celebrations, a Mega Quiz Competition was held at St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School on 23rd June. The event saw enthusiastic participation from all houses, showcasing their knowledge of Olympic history, sports, and values. • Blue House emerged victorious, securing 1st place with 51 points. • Red House followed closely, winning 2nd place with 40 points. • Yellow House claimed 3rd place with 30 points. All participants added to the festive spirit by wearing Olympic-themed T-shirts, generously provided by the Kerala Olympic Association.

In addition, students enthusiastically participated in a Poster-Making Competition, creatively expressing the themes of unity, excellence, and sportsmanship through vibrant artwork. The event was graced by the presence of Sri. Shummy Lawrence (Headmaster), who served as the Chief Guest. He inspired the students with a motivating speech on the importance of sports in education and the enduring values upheld by the Olympic movement. Thiruvananthapuram District Olympic Association, in association with the Kerala Olympic Association, organized a massive Olympic Day Run on 23rd June at 4:00 PM. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from athletes, students, and sports lovers.

2. KOLLAM

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Kollam District Olympic Association, in collaboration with the District Rifle Association Kollam (DRAK), organized the Open Shooting Championship on 22nd June at the Association’s Indoor Rifle Shooting Range in Paravur. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ramabhadran, Vice President, Kollam District Olympic Association. Kollam District Olympic Association Secretary, Sri. Jayakrishnan, welcomed the athletes participating in the competition. District Rifle Association Secretary, Sri. Vishnu Raj, along with association office bearers Sri. Sai Kumar, Sri. Jayaraj B., Sri. Arun Krishnan, Sri. Nikhil Babu, and Dr. Sarath Krishnan, also extended their greetings to the participants. Around thirty shooters from across the district took part in the championship, showcasing their skills and promoting the Olympic spirit through sportsmanship and precision.

On 23rd June, the Kollam District Olympic Association organized the Olympic Run. The public gathering held at Chinnakada was inaugurated by Mrs. J. Chinju Rani, Hon’ble Minister for Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development and presided over by Sri. M. Naushad, MLA, Eravipuram. The Olympic Run was flagged off by Kollam District Collector, Sri. Devidas IAS, and concluded at the Lal Bahadur Stadium, where participants took the Olympic oath administered by Sri. Shahjahan Firoz, Retired Superintendent of Police. Dr. K. Ramabhadran, Senior Vice President, Kollam District Olympic Association, welcomed the gathering, and Sri. R. Jayakrishnan, Secretary, Kollam District Olympic Association delivered the vote of thanks. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from district athletes, eminent personalities from the sports community, and sports organizers. A Zumba fitness demonstration was conducted under the leadership of Josephine from Karuthal Society, adding a dynamic and energetic touch to the event. District Olympic Association Vice Presidents Sri. Christopher D'Costa, Sri. Radhakrishnan, and Sri. Jayaraj; Joint Secretaries Sri. Vijayan and Sri. Jayalal; and Executive Members Sri. Geethakrishnan and Sri. Sasidharan also participated in the function.

3. ALAPPUZHA

As part of the district-level celebrations, the Alappuzha District Olympic Association, with the support of various District Sports Associations, organized a series of Sports demonstrations and penalty shoot-outs across the district.

District Olympic Association Secretary, Sri. C. T. Soji, inaugurated the football matches organized by the District Football Association as part of the Olympic Day celebrations.

Volleyball Tournament organized as part of District level celebrations On June 23rd, Alappuzha District Olympic Association organized the Olympic Day Run as part of the International Olympic Day celebrations. The run was flagged off in front of the Alappuzha EMS Stadium by Municipal Chairperson, Mrs. K. K. Jayamma. Numerous sportspersons representing various Sports Associations across the district took part in the event, showcasing unity and enthusiasm in promoting the Olympic spirit.

4. PATHANAMTHITTA

As part of the Olympic Day celebrations in the district, the Pathanamthitta District Olympic Association organized a wide range of programs to promote sports and the Olympic values among the public. Various sports competitions were conducted across the district as part of the International Olympic Day Celebrations.

Football Carnival was organized as part of International Olympic Day Celebrations in the district. As part of the Celebrations, Pathanamthitta District Olympic Association oragnized elocution and painting competiton for students.

A proclamation procession and the torch relay will be held at Catholic College, Pathanamthitta at 9.30 am on 23rd June. The Olympic Run was organized in Thiruvalla, starting from the MGM School Ground. The rally was flagged off by Principal Thomas K., with Sri. Prakash Babu ceremoniously handing over the torch to Sri. K. T. Chacko.

The closing ceremony, held at the Thiruvalla Municipal Open Stage, was chaired by Sub-Collector Sri. Sumit Kumar Thakur and inaugurated by MLA Sri. Mathew T. Thomas. District Collector Sri. Prem Krishnan distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions conducted in connection with Olympic Day.

Prominent personalities including Sri. K. Anilkumar, Sri. Joy Paulose, Sri. R. Prasannakumar, Sri. Cherian Polachirakkal, Sri. Mathews K. Jacob, and Sri. Shaji Thiruvalla addressed the gathering.

Major schools and institutions from Thiruvalla actively participated in the rally, reflecting strong community engagement and enthusiasm for the Olympic spirit.

5. KOTTAYAM

As part of the Olympic Day celebrations in the district, the Kottayam District Olympic Association organized a variety of programs, including sports demonstrations, competitions, a coaches’ seminar, the Olympic Day Run, and more. Kottayam District Athletics Association organized a Mini Marathon Race on 21st June.

As part of the Olympic Day celebrations, a Special Karate Technical Seminar was held on 21st June 2025 at Attachira Fitness Academy, Kurichy. The event drew enthusiastic participation from martial arts practitioners across the region and provided a unique opportunity to learn from some of the most respected names in the field. The seminar was led by two eminent karate masters: Shihan Sharath Eldo Philip, M.G. University Karate Coach & Shihan Aju Abraham, ISKF Technical Director.

As part of the Olympic Day celebrations, the Kottayam District Volleyball Association organized a Group Run and a series of volleyball matches, promoting community participation and the spirit of sportsmanship.

As part of the Olympic Day celebrations, Good Shepherd School in Kottayam organized a series of events to promote the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect. The celebrations included a vibrant cultural program presented by the students, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm for the spirit of the Olympics.

An Olympic Day Run was also conducted from the school premises, which was inaugurated by Sri. Arun M. J., Circle Inspector, Thrikkodithanam. The event was graced by international swimmer Ms. Sumi Cyriac, who attended as the chief guest and inspired the students with her words on dedication and perseverance in sports.

6. IDUKKI

As part of the befitting celebration of International Olympic Day, the Idukki District Basketball Association, in collaboration with the Idukki District Olympic Association, organized a basketball exhibition match on Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at the St. Joseph Academy Indoor Stadium, Moolamattom.

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, a series of student competitions were held on 20th June 2025 at St. Thomas High School, Thudanganad, under the leadership of Hockey Idukki. The events included a speech competition on the topic “Importance of Sports,” a drawing competition on “Children and Games,” and an essay competition on “The Role of Sports in Mental and Physical Development.”

The competitions aimed to raise awareness among students about the value of sports in daily life and the core principles of the Olympic movement. A large number of students participated with great enthusiasm, reflecting a deep understanding of the significance of Olympic Day and the role of sports in holistic development. As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, a goal shootout match was organized at De Paul School, Thodupuzha on 21st June 2025, under the leadership of Hockey Idukki.

The district-level Olympic Day Run was inaugurated by Thodupuzha DySP Sri. P. K. Sabu, who flagged off the event. The run was organized under the auspices of the Idukki District Olympic Association and the Idukki District Sports Council as part of the International Olympic Day celebrations.

7. ERNAKULAM

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, Ernakulam Hockey organized a quiz competition, drawing competition and 5 masters tournament on 23rd June at St. Joseph's School.

The Clash of Titans 5's Mixed Hockey Championship," organized by Ernakulam Hockey as part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, was held on 23rd June at 8:00 PM at Courtino Turf, Kacheripady. The event brought together mixed-gender teams in a spirited display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

A grand Olympic Day Run was held on June 23rd, 2025, starting at 7:30 AM from Rajendra Maidan, Ernakulam, and concluding at the Marine Drive Helipad. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of Olympians, Arjuna Awardees, school and college students, office bearers of various Sports Associations, athletes, social and cultural activists, and members of the Kudumbashree Mission, all coming together in celebration of the Olympic spirit. The run was flagged off by Ernakulam District Sports Council President and MLA, Adv. P. V. Srinijan. Former Indian Volleyball Team Captain, Sri. V. A. Moideen Naina IRS, solemnly recited the Olympic Pledge. The Olympic Day message was delivered by Sri. P. Mohandas, Senior Vice President, Kerala Olympic Association.

8. THRISSUR

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Kerala Institute of Sports Ayurveda and Research (KISAR), in collaboration with the Thrissur District Olympic Association and Thrissur District Sports Council, will jointly organize a Sports Seminar on June 23rd , 2025, at 10:00 AM at the V.K.N. Menon Indoor Stadium Conference Hall. The event will be inaugurated by Sri. P. Balachandran MLA, and Smt. Agnes Cleetus, District Medical Officer, Bharatiya Ayurveda Division, will preside over the function.

As part of the program, distinguished sportspersons, including K. P. Thomas, T. V. Pauly, Jopaul Anchery, and other National Games medalists, will be honored for their contributions to Sports.

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Thrissur District Olympic Association organized a mega walkathon on 23rd June 2025. The event was flagged off by Arjuna Awardee Sri. T. V. Pauly in front of the Paramekkavu Temple

9. PALAKKAD

The Palakkad District Olympic Association organized various programs as part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, bringing together athletes, students, and sports enthusiasts. The Palakkad District Olympic Association, in association with Palakkad Hockey, organized a hockey tournament in the district as part of the International Olympic Day celebrations.

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Deepa Shikha Rally was held on June 23rd, beginning at 7:00 AM from the Victoria College premises and culminating in a vibrant closing ceremony at Kotta Maidan. The rally was flagged off by Hon. MP Shri V. K. Sreekandan, and was led by renowned Olympians Tintu Luka and Preeja Sreedharan, adding immense pride and inspiration to the event. Participants included members of the NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides, SPC, along with students, sportspersons, and volunteers from various organizations, reflecting strong community involvement and enthusiasm for the Olympic spirit.

The closing ceremony at Kotta Maidan was inaugurated by Hon. Electricity Minister Shri K. Krishnankutty, marking the culmination of a meaningful celebration that promoted the values of unity, fitness, and sportsmanship.

10. MALAPPURAM

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Malappuram District Olympic Association and the District Sports Council jointly organized a vibrant Olympic Run on 23rd June. The Olympic Run was flagged off by former international footballer Habib Rahman, began in front of Malappuram M.S.P. Higher Secondary School and concluded at M.S.P.L.P. School via Kunnummal. The run witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students and sportspersons, turning the streets into a lively show of athletic spirit and unity.

11. KOZHIKODE

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations in Kozhikode district, a wide range of sports competitions were organized under the leadership of various sports associations from June 16th to 22nd. The events were held across multiple venues and showcased the district's vibrant sporting culture.

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Kozhikode District Wushu Association organized a series of impactful programs across three centers, promoting both health awareness and community engagement. At Palazhi, a blood donation camp was held, in which 50 people participated, reflecting the strong spirit of social responsibility among the public. In addition, a cancer awareness session was conducted for children by Dr. Nirmal from MVR Cancer Centre, aimed at educating the younger generation on early awareness and prevention. Sub-Inspector Firoz Pantheerangavu also led a class on the dangers of alcoholism, emphasizing the importance of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Olympic Day Run in the district was held on Monday, June 23rd at 4:00 PM at Mananchira Square, Kozhikode, as part of the district’s tribute to the Olympic spirit. The ceremony was inaugurated by Shri A.K. Saseendran, Hon’ble Minister for Forest and Environment, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of promoting Sports and healthy living. As a symbolic gesture of the Olympic values, District Collector Shri Snehil Kumar Singh IAS lit the Olympic torch and handed it over to Shri K.T. Joseph, District President of the Olympic Association, and Town ACP and former volleyball player, Shri T.K. Asharaf.

12. WAYANAD

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Wayanad District Olympic Association organized a diverse range of programs. As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Wayanad District Karate Association organized a one-day karate workshop.

Orphanage School in Pinangode, Wayanad, celebrated International Olympic Day by organizing an Olympic Day Run and a vibrant flashmob.

The Mary Matha College, Wayanad organized Olympic Day Celebrations with an Olympic Run at Ondayangadi Junction. The event was jointly organized by the College Physical Education Department and NSS, with the theme "Choose Sports Over Drugs."

The Wayanad District Olympic Association and the Wayanad District Sports Council jointly organized the Olympic Day Mega Walkathon on 23rd June. The event was flagged off by Sri T. K. Ramesh, Chairman of the Wayanad Corporation. Indian women's cricket team member, Ms. V. J. Joshitha, carried the Olympic torch.

13. KANNUR

As part of the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Kannur District Olympic Association organized a football match.

A shuttle tournament was held as part of the International Olympic Day celebrations. The competition was organized by the Mayyil Power Cricket Club under the leadership of the District Olympic Association.
Cannanore District Basketball Association organized Olympic Day Basketball Tournament 2025 on 22nd June 2025 at Municipal Indoor Court Thalassery.
The Kannur District Olympic Association, in collaboration with the Kannur Cycling Club, organized a bicycle rally to mark International Olympic Day.

14. KASARGOD

In connection with International Olympic Day, the District Olympic Association organized a grand Olympic Mega Rally in Nileswaram. The event aimed to raise awareness about the role of Sports in combating substance abuse and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The rally was flagged off by Municipal Chairperson Smt. T.V. Shantha from the premises of the old municipal office. Participants marched through the streets of Nileswaram, culminating at Raja's Higher Secondary School grounds. The event took a firm stand against the social evil of alcoholism, emphasizing “Sports against the scourge of alcoholism” as its central theme. International volleyball player Anju Balakrishnan ceremoniously lit the Olympic lamp, symbolizing the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. The event was presided over by District Olympic Association Secretary M. Achuthan Master.
